NOSE

The nose opens with a medium intensity, showing dark fruits like black cherry and mulberries. Beneath the fruit lies a subtle savoury edge—black olive, leather, and a whisper of spice. There's a brooding complexity here, fresh and youthful but just beginning to hint at the secondary aromas that will emerge with further age. Oak is present, though restrained and harmoniously integrated.

PALATE

Rich and warming with immediate impact—ripe blackberry and cherry notes dominate the front palate. Plush, fleshy tannins give a velvety mouthfeel, coating the palate with fine grain and structure. A fine acid line runs through, giving energy and lift to the dense fruit core. The finish is long and balanced, tapering off with a satisfying mix of fruit and savoury spice.

A more savoury and restrained expression on the nose, due to the cooler year compared to previous vintages, this wine shows its poise and depth through a balance of freshness, plush texture, and varietal typicity. With its fine structure, elegant oak handling, and youthful vibrancy, this wine is built to evolve gracefully over time.

VINTAGE NOTES

The 2018 vintage delivered balanced, expressive wines thanks to a warm, dry growing season and a long summer into April. With average yields and berry size, the fruit showed excellent flavour concentration and natural acidity. Warm nights promoted steady ripening, while dry conditions kept disease pressure low. A classic year for structured, age-worthy reds.
