The Hampel family have been farming their land in the North of the Barossa Valley for 6 generations. Descended from original settlers, this family take great pride in producing grapes of superb quality that reflect the cracking clays, loams and ironstone of the Ebenezer and Kalimna parishes.
Lifted pure fruit characters of plum and other black fruits. Dark fruit notes balance out the palate with new oak complexity and long, rich finish.

The plains of Ebenezer have yielded small crops of intensely flavoured Shiraz grapes for many years - and the Hoffmann’s have been a part of the local northern ground landscape of the Barossa Valley for 6 generations. So typical of this little patch of grape paradise, it shows the concentration and weight of tannin expected from this patch of ground. Dark black and blue fruit, a big spicy smile, subtle French oak that compliments the spicy notes and a finish that goes on and on. Firm and fleshy, full flavoured and friendly. Cellar for years to come if you want, or dive in now and see the brightness of youth.
The Kleinig family are direct descendants from the very early Lutheran families that settled in the north of the Barossa Valley and have been farming their land for 5 generations. Their vineyard lies at a geographical intersection that spans the individual areas of Ebenezer, Koonunga and Moppa – all very much a part of the greater northern Barossa tapestry of soils. This particular Shiraz block dates back to the 1920’s and has been lovingly cared for by the Kleinig family members ever since.
Rounded, soft, medium weight palate - in keeping with it's style and philosophy of a Grenache based blend. Long finish of ripe fruit, very soft tannin and just a hint of barrel character. A real crowd pleaser in it's gentle and friendly approach.
